Brian's Birthday Eve

Today we prepared for Brian's birthday. We bought presents this morning. Then we came home and touched up the paint in his man room. We cleaned the man room and added a few new accessories. We made a birthday card. This afternoon we made his birthday cake and icing and taste tested them both. (they were delicious)
In just a few hours he will be 31. Yay!

Injured

The boys were not good listeners today. They were both running from the front door to the couch at top speed. Then they would jump on the couch. No amount of warnings or yelling slowed them down. So Thomas got hurt. Timothy bumped Thomas' face with his head. He got a huge lump and it turned purple immediately. Poor baby.

USA

Thomas and Timothy were throwing balls into a scoreboard game and I overheard Thomas tell Timothy that they were the Americans and the bad guys were the Chinese. So they had to beat the bad guys. We've been watching a lot of Olympics around here, so that's where that came from. It's good to have pride for your country and all, but I'm afraid he might end up like this:

USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!

Arts and craps

This afternoon we had arts and "craps" time. We bought some melty bead kits for less than $1 at walmart and we broke them out today.
Thomas picked one with a frog and a bee. Timothy picked an alligator one. They turned out pretty cute.

Can you say archaeologist?

We bought this nifty kit at the teacher supply store.
It only came with a tiny pick and a tiny brush, so we improvised and used a pen to break away some of the dirt.
It got very messy.
It was hard work.
But we ended up with an archaeological experience and a small blue triceratops. Yay!
