Charlie

Today we had to take Charlie for his annual visit to the vet. He is getting old but he's still in good shape. She said he has some slight cataracts but he can still see fairly well. We had to wait for almost an hour and got to see lots of other animals while we waited.

Back to reality

Today we had to get back to reality. That basically meant we had to check the mail and I had to go grocery shopping. Mimi ordered the kids new games so they were very happy to find those in the mailbox and play with them for the better part of the day.

Home again

We packed up, said goodbye to the deer, and headed home today. We're bringing a new pet with us. Pinchy the crawfish that Timothy and Thomas "rescued" from the lake.

Lake life

Today we tried fishing. We didn't catch anything and I slipped on a wet rock and busted my butt. (really I skinned my knee and bruised my ankle) This just proved to me once again that I hate nature and nature hates me back.
We drove to a rocky park that had a beach-like entrance and played in the water and had a picnic lunch. It was so fun!
Then we came back to the cabin to feed the deer some more. Timothy pulled an "E.T." and lured the deer up onto the deck with a trail of deer food.

From resort to cabin

Today we enjoyed a relaxing morning at the resort.
We had some lunch then drove to a cabin at Canyon Lake. We were welcomed by some hungry deer that we fed.
We went to a great restaurant in the small town of Spring Branch, TX that is known for their chicken fried steaks. They did not disappoint. And Dad and Brian enjoyed their ice cold beers and tiny, ice cold glasses.
Then we went back to the cabin to feed more deer and enjoy the view.

Resort life

Ahhh...an amazing, relaxing resort. It is huge! We had an awesome day in the pool, on the slides, and in the sun. We went to dinner at Lupe Tortillas then Evan joined us for board games in the lobby. Vacation day 1 = success!

Preparations

We spent today getting prepared for a little road trip. We had to go get some fishing supplies, do laundry, pack, and clean up. We are so excited to get away!

Chauffeur

Thomas' seat was in the way-back since we had Grayson with us yesterday. Well, today he decided to leave it in the way-back. I felt like his chauffeur. Especially when it was just he and I in the car.

Chuck E Cheese

After science camp today, we picked up Grayson and went to play at Chuck E Cheese's. These boys went through all their tokens then we ate pizza. Afterward they went to climb up in the play area for a while. We spent our tickets on the way out and they all got some awesome prizes!

Astros Date

Tonight the boys went to visit with Mimi and Boonpa for a while so Brian and I could go to the Astros game.

We had great seats!

A new pet

Today at science camp, Timothy got a new pet. A meal worm. In a plastic shoe box habitat. It came with very explicit instructions on how to care for it FOR THE NEXT SIX MONTHS so it will turn into a thriving black beetle. Bleh! This damn thing requires more care than our dog! Hopefully he will forget about it sooner rather than later.
(They also drew spider eyes on his face)
After science camp we picked up Chick Fil A and took it to a play date at our pool with Timothy's friend Grant. They had a great time!

Science and shopping

Today Timothy started a little science camp. He got to make a turtle shell and pet some critters so he was super happy. While he was there, Thomas and I went grocery shopping. He was so impressed and happy to report to Brian that we had a basket full of groceries but it only cost $90.00. And he even picked out a few extra things for himself. (A small orange juice and a can of sour cream and onion Pringles.)

Visiting

Today we went to lunch at Willie's (Timothy's choice). Then we went to visit with PawPaw and Mark and Jon and Mimi and Boonpa. Afterward, we went to Fudrucker's for dinner (Thomas' choice). Then we watched Spaced Invaders which is a true classic that Brian had never seen. Mimi slept through it.

Babysitting

Today we cleaned house and the boys played for a while.
Then this evening, we babysat Grayson and Spencer. Thomas helped take care of Spencer while Timothy kept Grayson entertained.

Sylvia

We didn't do much today, but the boys and I baked muffins and then we settled on a name for our new car. Sylvia. She looks like a Sylvia, right?
Sylvia wears mom jeans but won't go so far as to perm her hair just yet. She car-dances to the latest songs. She enjoys a glass of wine occasionally with girlfriends but spends most of her time with her family. She is a dedicated mom-mobile who has an easy smile. You can tell she had a slight wild side in her younger days by the custom pinstripes on her sides and rear. She has a little junk in her trunk but she doesn't let it bring her down.
Oh, Sylvia.

Pool Day and a giant lizard

Today we met our friends at the Bridgeland pool. We swam and played football and had a picnic lunch. It was a fun couple of hours.
This evening I went to a girls game night with some friends and had a great time. Brian let the kids watch Godzilla while I was gone, so they had fun too.

Bowling + cleaning

Today we actually got dressed and left the house. We met our friends at the bowling alley. The boys bowled and then we went to Jason's Deli for lunch with free ice cream for dessert.

This afternoon we did a little house cleaning, including the boys vacuuming. Want to make a momma happy? Show her her children vacuuming. I may even frame this picture to smile upon later!

Yay for having kids old enough to help out and not just make a bigger mess! Timothy made all the beds and picked up toys. I'm not sure I trust him with the vacuum cleaner around my Sheetrock just yet. But he sure did a bang-up job on making my bed (which I did not ask him to do - it was his idea. I think he's trying to get back on my good side after locking me out of my bathrooms)
After dinner we ventured out to Bahama Bucks for snow cones. So it was a productive day, indeed.

Pajama Day

Today we stayed in our pajamas all.day.long. It was glorious! We just relaxed all day long. Except for Timothy, who managed to lock both downstairs bathroom doors with no one inside today. He locked us out of TWO bathrooms! How does that even happen?!? One is a mistake, two is just ridiculous!
So that was the only excitement (really, annoyance) of the day.

Catch-up Day

After a super-busy weekend we had to catch up a bit today. The boys and I did our grocery shopping at HEB (yay for icees!) then had lunch and spent a little time at the pool.

Circus 2015

Today was our annual trip to the circus. It was so fun! This time they had guys riding motorcycles in a steel cage and trapeze.
Before the show we got to see an elephant paint a picture.

Baseball Saturday

Today was a baseball day. This morning Thomas had a baseball clinic at Minute Maid park where he got to go on the field, in the bullpens, and be on the jumbo screen. He had a fantastic time!
Then this evening we went to the Skeeters game with mom and dad. It was so fun even though they didn't win.

Friday

Today was Timothy's last day of art camp. He requested a Chick-Fil-A picnic at the pool this afternoon. So before we picked him and Grayson up, Thomas and I went and grabbed the lunch. Then we drove straight to the pool after we picked them up. The little boys changed into their swimsuits and we all ate our picnic. Then it was time for sunscreen and swimming.
After about an hour and a half at the pool, we went home to get into dry clothes and have a little nap. Then they played until Grayson went home.
This evening we went to see the Minion movie. It was adorable!

Back and forth day

Today was super busy and involved me driving back and forth a lot. First I had to take Timothy to art camp. Then I had to go to the dealership to get side rails put on my car. Next, home to put on swimsuits. Then to the Bridgeland pool to meet with friends. Then I had to pick up Timothy from art camp. Next, I took him home to put on his swimsuit and grab some lunchables. Then back to the Bridgeland pool to have lunch and play. Next, home to put on dry clothes. Then back to Bridgeland to play at a friend's house. Then home for a few minutes. Then out to Cracker Barrell for dinner. Finally home for good and dreaming of going to bed at 8:30 tonight.

Long Day

So staying out after 11pm is not good for the kids. Or me. We were so tired this morning. I had to wake them up at 8:15 so we could get Timothy to art camp by 9:00. Then they were a bit cranky this afternoon due to exhaustion. So bedtime was 8pm. And Timothy was pissed because "it's still DAY!" He hates going to bed when the sun is still out.
Also, I was completely traumatized today at the pool by a grandma in a see-through shirt. It takes ALL kinds...

The day we bought a new car

So today Timothy and Grayson had day 2 of art camp. I brought Grayson home to play with us afterward. We had lunch, rest time, and played a lot.

Then we went and bought me a new car. A silver Traverse. With 3 rows of seats. It's super nice and new. Thomas talked about how he really likes the smell of new things. :-) It was a late night but it was worth it.

Aaaahhhh...let there be light

So Brian replaced one of our hallway lightbulbs with a high efficiency bulb that promised to look like "natural sunlight." It is SO bright! I mean, compared to our other lights, this one is like having a giant spotlight on. So every time one of us walks under this light we say "aaahhhhh" and hold out our hands like we are being shined upon from the heavens. Or, as in the picture below, we say "aaahhhhh" and strike a pose like a trophy on display.

Slip and Slide

Today we relaxed a lot since we had a really late night last night. We went for Chinese food because Timothy wanted a dumpling. (it's his new favorite there) Then we went to Mom and Dad's for dinner. On the way, we stopped by a Walgreens and had to buy a slip and slide. The kids had a lot of fun on the one at Brandon and Raney's yesterday. So after we got home tonight, we set it up and gave it a try. I sat out due to the fact that slip and slides are very painful for people with breasts (as I found out the hard way when Thomas was 3) but Brian even tried it with the kids. They all had a great time. Except for some initial pain and then lingering soreness for Brian. :-)
