While Thomas was with his friends, we invited Timothy's friend Clark and his mom and sister to hang out at the splashpad. We had a picnic at the park and had a great time at the splashpad.

Friends-day
Today Thomas started a 3 day baseball camp with 3 of his friends. He was so excited to get to spend the day with his buddies playing ball.

Back to reality
So after a super fun weekend at Horseshoe Bay, we were back to reality today. And it involved some grocery shopping. First Sam's-where we bought a watermelon. I put it in the front seat because I didn't want it rolling all around the back and possibly busting open. Well, my air bag sensor kept going off thinking there was an unbuckled passenger in the front. So we just buckled that watermelon right up. Safety first. The kids thought it was hilarious to drive around with a watermelon buckled in the car.
Then reality really hit with Timothy's finger. He told us yesterday on the drive home that it hurt and was itchy. It was a little red and a little swollen and we just assumed he jammed it playing at the resort. So this morning he mentioned it again. It was still a little red and swollen so we iced it. Then this afternoon at 3:00 I asked to look at it and I noticed it was super red, hot to the touch, very swollen with tight, tight skin, and had a little bump on the knuckle. So I called and got us in to the doctor at 3:50. It's infected. So he started antibiotics tonight. And warm compresses. Boo!

Super fun at the lake
Today was day 2 at Horseshoe Bay. We spent it at the marina and lake. The boys and Brian fished off the dock this morning. They both caught a fish. Timothy caught his first and as soon as it was back in the water, he was done.with.fishing. So he played in a sand box while Thomas continued on.

Nails
Today was an errand kind of day. With some laziness thrown in.
This morning I took my car for an oil change, tire rotation, inspection, windshield wiper replacements, and a recall thing. Then we were lazy for a while. Then I dropped Timothy off at a friend's house for a play date. Then mom and I went for pedicures. Then we picked up Timothy. Then more laziness. Then we went and picked up my car and had dinner.

Pool play date #2
On today's stop of the Cypress Tour De Pools, we visited the Bridgeland pool. It consists of 1 twirly slide, 1 tube slide, a splashpad, a shallow pool, and a lap pool with diving boards. We tried them all (except the diving boards because the pool is 13 feet deep in that section so mama can't even reach to catch your jumping self).

Pool play date #1
Today Timothy's buddy Clark and his cute baby sister came to our pool for a play date. Then they came to our house for lunch and more playing. It was such a fun day!

Tuesday Training
I had teacher training meetings all day today so mom came to stay with the boys. She brought them pancakes for breakfast and then took them bowling and to lunch at James Coney Island. Then they went to Target where the boys talked MiMi into Jurrasic World Legos, new body wash, and dog food.

Splashway
Today we ventured out to Splashway Water Park. It was super fun but we are also super tired. It's a lot of work climbing up all those stairs to get to the tops of the water slides while carrying tubes to float in!

Videos
Today I accidentally left my phone at home while I went grocery shopping. I came back to multiple videos that the boys made for me. :)

Busy Day
Today was a busy day. Dropped the kids off for their last day of VBS. Then I went to half price books and sold all the books they cleaned out of their shelves. They each got $25. Then I did some shopping and ran some errands and then went back to the church for a performance and a VBS video. Timothy was on the stage during the dance performance. Bless him. He wasn't exactly doing the moves he had been taught, but he was absolutely moving. Never stopped moving, in fact.
Got one picture of them in their VBS shirts afterward.
Then we ate lunch and went to see the new movie, Inside Out. It was cute. I guess. I had to make 3 bathroom trips (2 for Timothy, 1 for Thomas) so I may have missed out on a plot point or two.

Husky's
We went with the kids' friends to Husky's after VBS today. It's nice that they have friends that are also brothers their exact same ages.
We spent over 2 hours playing and eating. We love Husky's!

Books
In my continuation of cleaning out the kids' rooms (seriously, we just moved in at the end of October-how did they get junky so soon?!?) we cleaned out their bookshelves today. These boys have TONS of books. We weeded out 2 large bags of them. And the shelves are still full now. Not overflowing like they were, but still full.
We'll take the books to Half Price Books to get the kids a little money but hopefully, no more books for a while. Thomas read a book on his Kindle for the first time last week. He finished it in 2 days, so hopefully he can read some more on that. :-)

Election
Well, tropical storm Bill brought us a few showers today. We were hunkered down for nothing. But I got the kids closets all cleaned out.
In other news, I've decided who I'm voting for next year.

Spoons
Today the kids went to VBS. They had a ton of fun with their friends. Then we hung out while everyone else in the city prepared for Tropical Storm Bill. We went to IHOP for dinner to use up their food and save ours in case we need it during the storm. And also for the pancakes. We went for the pancakes. These two goofus children played with the spoons while we waited for our pancakes.

Jurassic
Today Brian and I went to see Jurassic World while the kids stayed with Mom and Dad. Thank God for that because it was super scary!
Then we went back to Mom and Dad's house and helped them with all of their technical needs. I sure hope they answer Extremely Satisfied on the customer service survey we will be sending out. :-)

Baseball
Today we watched our neighborhood high school team win the state championship in baseball on TV. Super exciting stuff.
Then this afternoon the kids and Brian went out to eat and to play with their cousins and I went to a gender reveal party and out with a couple of friends.

Astros Game
Dad, Brian and the boys went to the Astros game tonight. They each got a free gym bag, ate hot dogs, and had a lot of fun. These are the pictures I was texted:

Hair Cut
I think this is the longest Thomas has ever gone without a haircut. We solved that problem today.
Before and after his buzz-cut.
And while Thomas was getting his hair cut, Timothy got brave and adventurous and tried a MYSTERY lollipop at the place. It ended up being popcorn flavored. Bleh! It tasted like licking a stick of butter to me, but he liked it.
After the hair cut, we went to the Dollar Tree. Both boys had brought $5 from their banks so they each got 5 treasures to enjoy. :-)

Mushroom Pool
We tried out our other neighborhood pool today. This one has two large mushroom like things that spray/drip water so we call it the mushroom pool. It is smaller but super nice with a beach entry and lots of tropical landscaping. Feels like a resort. And the neighborhood ducks fly low, right over your head, as they go from one lake to another.
Here are my two swimmers taking their "adult swim" break.

Beanie Babies
I had class today so the boys went to MiMi this morning. They came home with 25 beanie babies from when I was young. Where in the world am I supposed to store 25 beanie babies? And of course Timothy wanted to sleep with them ALL. Of course.

RHOC
Timothy had a dentist appointment this morning for a filling. They gave him happy gas to help him relax. I have never seen that boy more still or quiet. He was definitely relaxed!
After that was over we went home to clean a bit and then headed to the pool for a while. My sweet Thomas enjoyed relaxing in his new inflatable tube. Timothy was practicing his jumps-including his infamous bellyflop.
This evening I had a "girl party" to watch the premiere of RHOC. So fun!

List Style
No story to tell today so I'm going list-style with this post.
-kids were up by 6:15am.
-spoke too soon on yesterday's post about them sleeping in a bit
-started to weed the flowerbeds with Brian but I deserted him for the air conditioning
-he did a great job without me though
-took a nice nap this afternoon (note: kids up by 6:15 for explanation)
-and that's it. List style.

Saturday
I didn't hear the kids this morning until after 7am, so that is a win for our first Saturday of summer. Hopefully they can continue that trend. And maybe stretch it to 8am. A girl can dream, right?
The only item on the calendar today was a birthday party for Timothy's friend who is the little brother of Thomas' friend, so they both were invited to the party. And they both loved jumping and running at the gymnastics place. Yay for a nice, easy start to summer.
