Last play date and summer birthday

Today I went to school to finish my room while the kids stayed home with Brian. I came back at 10:30 and got them, then headed to the bowling alley for our last play date with Brandon and Eli this summer. We bowled and then had lunch at Panera, then we went to their house to play for a while.
This evening we took Boonpa out to eat and had cupcakes to celebrate his birthday.
Happy birthday Boonpa!

Busy, busy day

Today I went to work in my room for a while, then I had a lunch meeting. The boys went to school with me and ate their own lunch during my meeting. I left there at 1:30 and we came home, put swimsuits on, and got back in the car. We met Timothy's friends at our pool for a couple of hours.
Then we went home and put our dry clothes back on, fed Thomas, and headed to his baseball practice. Brian met us there for the second hour of practice so Timothy and I could go home and eat dinner. It was a super busy day!

Worn Out

Today I got to go work on setting up my classroom for the first time this year. While I was working, the boys went to Sandlot Sports for a day camp. They got to play whiffle ball, flag football, kickball, dodgeball, and more. I picked them up after 6 hours and they were worn.out. They just layed around on the couch for the rest of the afternoon/evening. We had them shower and go to bed about 30 minutes early since they were so tired.
But they had a lot of fun playing sports all day!

Linner

"Linner" is what Brian and I call the oddly-timed meal between lunch and dinner that our family (extended family, not just us 4) frequently has. On the weekends and in summer, breakfast is around 8 or 9, lunch is somewhere around 12, and dinner is 6-ish. Then someone goes and throws linner into the equation. 3pm. Too late for lunch. Too early for dinner. What.the.hell.
So we eat light at linner. But it still throws us off and no one is hungry at dinner. But then 8pm rolls around and everyone is hungry. Who wants to eat (or cook) dinner that late? So my kids ate cheese-it's and yogurt and cookies tonight. At 8pm.
I freaking hate linner.

Garage Sale

Well, we helped at a FANTASTICALLY HOT garage sale today. Timothy and I were tired after all our hard sales-pitches this morning and Brian and Thomas were worn out from yard work. We grabbed some lunch on our way home. We ate, then showered, and I declared the rest of the day PAJAMA DAY! So we stayed in my bed and watched tv/movies until bed time. Yippee!

Cutting

I spent all day yesterday laminating at home after I laminated at the teacher supply. So today I had to cut all that good stuff out. Yay.
The kids watched Indiana Jones this morning (Thomas bought an Indiana Jones book yesterday so he wanted to see the movie) and I cut out laminating
Thomas got to pick where we went for lunch today and he chose Five Guys. We had never been there before. He loved his small bacon cheeseburger and ate the whole thing. Timothy enjoyed his grilled cheese. (He told me that his tummy wanted chicken but i told him it would have to be ok with a grilled cheese.)
Then we grocery shopped. They each pushed a small cart at Kroger and didn't run into anything or anyone today.
We came home and relaxed, then had tacos for dinner.

Teacher Supply

Today was the day I made my annual pilgrimage all the way down Fry Road to I-10 to visit the big teacher supply store. I had to use the big daddy laminator to laminate some poster-size things I've made. The boys went with me and we got there 10 minutes before they opened so we could be the first ones inside. There is usually a line and a fight for the laminator and I will not stand for that nonsense. So we won. We beat everyone else in the store and got to use the laminator first.
This is David. He's a character from a series of books. He helps me teach classroom rules. Timothy thinks he looks like a "bad kid".
He totally is a bad kid. We learn from David's mistakes.
After our laminating outing, we sold some books at Half-Price Books and broke even on them because the kids also bought 2 books each. Then we spent the afternoon playing puzzles and Legos and watching tv.

Pool play date

Well, our pool play dates are winding down. :-( We met Brandon and Eli at our pool for a few hours today. The boys did lots of tube-jumping and invented some other games to play. 1980s Sea Monster was one of them and another was called Titanic. I have no idea where all that came from...

Shopping

Today we did our back-to-school clothes shopping. The great thing about having boys is that right now we can get their shopping done without having to go near a mall. Academy for the win!
They each got cool new shoes (Nikes that match Brian's for Thomas and Sketchers "remembery" foam for Timothy) and nice new shirts. And I got lots of new shirts too. But not from Academy. Thanks Mom for the shopping trip!

Clean house

So my summer is winding down and we're trying to fit in as much fun as we can. We had to take a small break from fun today, but we absolutely had to clean this house. It's done and it feels good to be back to normal again.

Slight duck face

When I go to take a picture of Timothy, he always makes a face of some kind. Lately it has been this semi-duckface with his lips out. Oh Lord.

Puke

I took Timothy to a birthday party at a gymnastics place today. After they were done jumping and playing, they had all the kids sit at a table for pizza and cake and Timothy barfed all over himself. We're not sure if it was all the running and jumping or if he choked on something or what. But he was a total mess. I had to strip him down in the parking lot to get him into my car. Poor guy. I made him TRY to be still for the rest of the afternoon.
