"Linner" is what Brian and I call the oddly-timed meal between lunch and dinner that our family (extended family, not just us 4) frequently has. On the weekends and in summer, breakfast is around 8 or 9, lunch is somewhere around 12, and dinner is 6-ish. Then someone goes and throws linner into the equation. 3pm. Too late for lunch. Too early for dinner. What.the.hell.
So we eat light at linner. But it still throws us off and no one is hungry at dinner. But then 8pm rolls around and everyone is hungry. Who wants to eat (or cook) dinner that late? So my kids ate cheese-it's and yogurt and cookies tonight. At 8pm.
I freaking hate linner.
