Teachers

What has happened to us as a population? This was in a workshop today. This is a small portion of the auditorium we were in. I count 7 phones in this picture. What were they all doing? Taking a picture of the presenter's screen. There was nothing great or new on the screen. But everyone still took a picture. Why, people? Why?

Box land

We live in box land now. Boxes are everywhere. I am so tired of packing. Officially over it!

Storage

Today we rented our storage unit. We'll move in to it on Friday. Well, not us. Our stuff. We're moving in with MiMi and Boonpa.
I asked the kids today if they were ready for this adventure and they got super excited. Then they asked me what adventure and I said the moving one. They were not as excited after that. I guess they thought we were embarking on some other adventure?!?

Texans

Today we packed. All.day. Packing sucks. We told the kids that we would be packing up the X-Box and all the X-Box things at then end of the day, so if they wanted to play it one more time before it goes to storage for a month, they better get to it. So they played games all day. Before you think I'm cruel, please know that we still have the Wii and it will go with us.
We stopped about 3:00 to get ready to go out tonight. We took the kids to MiMi and Boonpa and then Brian and I went to dinner and the Texans game. We brought them good luck because they won!

Shopping

This morning we had to do a little bit of back to school shopping. Thomas needed new shoes and new shorts. We also traded in a bunch of baby books at Half Price Books for some better ones. We had our last James Coney Island lunch of the summer while we were over in that area.

Packing and Unpacking

For the past couple of days I have been packing up our things at home in preparation for our upcoming move.
Today I had to flip the switch and go unpack all my cabinets in my classroom in preparation for the upcoming school year.
Holy moly it's a lot of work!

Happy Birthday

Thomas had a cavity filled at the dentist this morning and he was totally loopy for a few hours afterward.
This evening we celebrated Boonpa's birthday.

Little Beakers

Today we went back to Little Beakers to do some more experiments. Super fun!

Last Lazy Day of Summer

It was another lazy day today. These days are numbered since school is starting next week for me. I finally got the kids to get dressed so we could go out to lunch at 12:00. We did our grocery shopping at Kroger afterwards. Then we came home to be lazy some more.
We have plans tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday so there's a good chance that today was our last lazy one for a while.

Happy 33rd!

Happy 33rd Birthday Brian!
We celebrated all day with Whataburger for breakfast, going to an Astros game, and Gringos for dinner!

Busy Busy

This morning I had a return to make at WalMart and a run to the Dollar Tree. Then today was the last day of basketball. Both boys had games with pizza and medals passed out afterwards.
Then Timothy and I had to hustle to get changed and go to his girlfriend's birthday party.
Then we came back home and got Brian and Thomas. They had spent all afternoon moving stones and bricks into the garage of our new house.

We all met up and went to the movie theater with Jeff to see Guardians of the Galaxy.
We didn't get home until late and we were all exhausted from such a hustle-and-bustle day!

American Ninja Warrior

So today was a busy one. This morning the kids helped me laminate (or amilate as Timothy calls it) at the teacher supply store. Then we took Brian out for lunch since we were close to his office.
This afternoon we went to the pool for an hour, then this evening Thomas met a couple of his friends at a gym. Not just any old gym though, it's the gym owned by Sam Sann an American Ninja Warrior and it's where lots of competitors from that show train. It was kids night, so the kids got to use all the ninja warrior equipment for 3 hours. They had a blast!

Shopping

Today we did a little bit of outlet mall shopping. We had a couple of birthday gifts to buy. Of course, no trip to the outlet mall is complete without a delicious pretzel. Timothy started asking for it as soon as we parked in the outlet mall parking lot.

House Visit

Today we had lunch with MiMi and took her to visit our house and the model home like it. We're loving how it's turning out so far!

Dentist Day

Today was the day both kids got to visit the dentist. All is well and they both chose chocolate flavored toothpaste and chocolate flavored fluoride. Bleck!!

Relaxing

The kids didn't want to get dressed or go do anything today, so we just hung out at home.

We did make it out to dinner though.

Dripping

Today was day 2 at Sea World. We wore our swimsuits today. We started off at the splash pad, then rode some water rides, then sat on the front row at the Shamu show. Out of all 3 places, Shamu got us the most wet. And it was cold, salty water! Timothy's face was priceless! He loved every second of it.

Saturday, August 2, 2014

Sea World

We went back to Sea World today. This trip we are all healthy and cast-free and we intend to live it up. We're sitting in the splash zone at every show. It's an exciting life we live.

Back at work

I was back at work yesterday and today. The kids spent both days (and last night) with MiMi and Boonpa.

Thursday, July 31, 2014

Men-Ja!

MiMi took the boys to Target today. They came across a woman dressed for her religion all in black with a black veil. Only her eyes were showing.
Timothy embarrassed MiMi by shouting out, "Look MiMi! That dude's a men-Ja!"

Buried

Timothy loves to bury himself and anyone else that will be still long enough in pillows.

Play Doh

The kids broke out the play doh this afternoon during a thunderstorm.

Stressful

We had a surprise house inspection this afternoon. I found out a couple of hours ahead of time and ran around like a crazy person trying to get ready.
A 5 foot tall person cleaning air vents on top of a step ladder does not work. It just doesn't. I got Sheetrock in my hair and eyes and all over the floor, totally ruined my shirt with bleach drips, and was totally frazzled.
Then once the buyer got here to go around with the inspector, we went outside in the heat to get out of the way. Totally earned my margarita at dinner tonight.
Aaahhhhhh!!!! It's hot!!!!

Sunday Funday

This afternoon Thomas met up with a few of his friends at Lazer X. We stayed and played and had a fabulous time! We met Grayson and Brandon and Raney for dinner then came back to our house to play. It was such a fun day!

Saturday, July 26, 2014

Saturday

Two exciting basketball games this morning. Chinese for lunch and new backpacks at Kohl's. Dinner and touring the new house with MiMi and Boonpa.

Friday, July 25, 2014

New House

We went by the new house tonight and walked through it. Maybe we're not supposed to do that? I don't know. But we were careful not to step on nails or anything, so it's all good.
This is the back of our house.

This is Thomas in his new room.

Fun with Friends

Today we all had fun with our friends.
Timothy went to parents day out at gymnastics with one of his best buddies from school.
I had a long lunch with a friend.
Thomas (and the rest of our family) went to a very long dinner with his baseball friends and their families.

Target

You know what you can do when you're having a showing and can't play video games at home?

American Men-ja Timothy

This happened the other night:

These boys are crazy!

Busy day

Bowling, James Coney Island for lunch, grocery shopping, hanging out at Chick fil A during a showing, a quick dinner, and hanging out at Cold Stone during another showing all add up to one busy Monday. But a good kind of busy!

The Day we Bought a House

So today we went to "look" at Lennar homes in Cypress Creek Lakes. And they ended up giving us some great incentives on a home that's in the process of being built, so we bought it. Just like that! It was totally crazy! So here it is

And I had to get one with the port-a-potty in it because that was Timothy's favorite part. Of course...
So exciting!!

Summer Saturday

We had basketball this morning. I finally got a couple of good shots of Thomas. His games are much faster which makes pictures very blurry most of the time. He is the king of defense!

This evening both boys had fun running through the sprinkler in the front yard. And Thomas was pleasantly surprised that we agreed to count that as their shower today. :)

Friday, July 18, 2014

Bowling

Today we finally got to go bowling. I was smart and called ahead this time to make sure no nursing homes had come on a field trip and taken up all the lanes. We were in luck! It must be bingo day for the white hairs because they stayed away today.
The first game was a tie between Thomas and Timothy. Thomas won the second game. Timothy slipped and fell once and his balled rolled so slowly that it stopped halfway down the lane once. I consider that happening only once a trip a win!

Rest

It was a late night out at the circus last night and a hard day yesterday, so today we just rested. We stayed in our jammies all day and relaxed. It was awesome!

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

Circus

Last night we made our annual trip to the circus. This year, MiMi and Boonpa came too! The kids were super-spoiled with lots of sugary treats this time. (I wonder why...)
(OMG...Timothy's face!)

Thomas said his favorite part was the people riding bikes on the high wire. Timothy said his favorite part was eating cotton candy. :-/ Of course...

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

Chuck's

Today we got ready and went to the bowling alley. But when we got there, it was full of old people. I swear, the elderly find me wherever I am! It was so full that there were no lanes for us.
So we went down the road a bit and visited everyone's favorite mouse, Chuck E. Cheese. We played games and won enough tickets for 2 mini frisbees and 2 Laffy Taffy candies.

HEB

So the nice folks at HEB probably think I'm nuts. Because on Saturday I dug through the Coke case at the checkout until I found one with one of our names on it (Brian). Today, the boys and I dug through two Coke cases until we found our names. This time we got Tom and Pat. Thomas and Timothy shared the Tom one at dinner. We're saving the Pat one to share with MiMi someday soon.

Swimming

No more cast=swim as much as possible! Today we swam at the Cypress Creek Lakes pool. Super fun!

Saturday, July 12, 2014

Coke

I totally did. I shared this one with him. :)

Friday, July 11, 2014

Pool

We finally got to go to the pool today! We took sandwiches and drinks, and all of our pool toys. We stayed for over 2 hours! We were very wrinkly when we got home.
I'm happy to report that even though the kids haven't swam since May, they did really well today and remembered everything from their lessons.

Cast is OFF!

Timothy got his cast off today! He is walking funny due to his ankle being stiff from being in the same position in the cast for several weeks. The doctor said his walking should go back to normal in a week or two.
Timothy keeps talking about how he can run now on his NEW foot. We've tried explaining to him that his foot is the same, but it's no use. So he's got a perfectly fine new foot now.

Husky's

Today should be our last full day with a cast. So we had to find one more dry thing to do. We decided to go to Husky's for hamburgers and games.

The kids had a great time and it got us out of the house for a couple of hours.

The Day This Happened

So it's really for sale now. I hope someone buys it soon so we can buy a new one.

The Day I Realized That I'm Old

So today our house went on the market. We also went to look at houses so we'll know what's out there when ours sells. We picked 6 houses that we really liked the looks of online and our realtor took us to see them. 5 of the 6 had 1 interesting thing in common. Not the flooring or floor plan or anything like that. Oh no, our common factor was that they are all currently occupied by old people. The elderly. So we really like old people's houses. What does that say about us? I guess we're just old farts at heart.

Movies

Today we saw our first movie of the summer. We went to see How to Train Your Dragon 2. It was cute!

Saturday, July 5, 2014

Free Saturday

We were shocked to find ourselves with a totally free Saturday on our calendar. We enjoyed a do-nothing day! We went out for lunch, napped, went to Jeff's for hamburgers and games, and the kids spent the night with MiMi and Boonpa.

Friday, July 4, 2014

Happy 4th!

It was a great, relaxing 4th of July today. Brian took the kids to get haircuts this morning, so I went to get my nails done. Dad came over for lunch/Orange Leaf/naps on the couch.
Then we went to Brandon and Raney's to eat/fly kites/watch fireworks.

Super fun Friday!

Cast countdown

One week from today Timothy should get his cast off. Hopefully the x-rays will show healed bones in his foot and the cast can come off. We're going straight to the pool from the doctor's office if that's the case!

Tie dye

Today we slept in (9:00!!!) and then just hung around the house being lazy.
We decided to tie dye some shirts with a tie dye kit that I got a while back. The kids wore Brian's shirts to protect their clothes, but we all still got a little tie dye on our hands/arms/feet. So we're colorful today.
